Ms. Cogburn Hello! I am so excited to be part of the Staton team. My name is Sherrie Cogburn. I am starting my 27th year of teaching! I have had a wonderful career teaching grades K-5 and K-5 Gifted and Talented students. I began teaching in Clark County and taught here for 18 years before moving to Nye County. I have been teaching there for eight years. I own 2 horses and a basset hound. I love animals and love to tell stories involving them, so be prepared… at any moment I can talk your ear off about my horses. I am absolutely looking forward to working with the children, parents, and staff at Staton Elementary School. Wish List Edit favorite things

Mrs. Crowe I am so excited and feel so lucky to be the Assistant Principal here at Staton! If I’m completely honest, I would tell you that when I was little, I thought I would be either a veterinarian or a marine biologist. Instead, I have been in education for my entire adult life and I have never regretted that for even one second. Teaching is in my blood. My grandma was a teacher in a one room schoolhouse, my mom was a high school teacher and now here I am. I will never forget the day I told my grandma that I got accepted into the same university she had gone so many years before to become a teacher. When she went to the university, there was only one building on campus and all classes were held there. Now it is one of the largest universities in Kansas and one of the hardest to get accepted into. I am a proud graduate of Emporia State University, (called The Teacher College when my grandma went), with both my bachelor’s degree in elementary education and a master’s degree in early childhood education. Most recently I obtained my leadership degree from Nova University. I have been teaching here in Las Vegas since 2007 and I have been here at Staton since 2018. Prior to that, I was teaching in Kansas where I was born and raised. I have been married to Mr. Crowe since 2011 and we have three rescue dogs, Bella, Shiloh and Chloe, all different breeds of Chihuahuas. During my down time I love going for walks on the trails around my house. I also love reading and doing crafts. It is important to me that all Staton Pioneers feel safe and loved at school while they are being challenged in the classroom. Close Edit favorite things

Mr. Roberts Hi I'm Clay Roberts. I enjoy live music, movies, video games, podcasts, a variety of physical activities (jiu jitsu, yoga, weight training, hiking, etc.) and spending time with family and friends. My favorite music genre is hardcore, but I indulge in a wide spectrum of genres. My favorite food is by far tacos. If there are tacos in front of me I will devour all said tacos until the self loathing inevitably starts to set in. I am a very outgoing and social person, but I also need to dedicate time to my more introverted side and find some balance between the two. All in all, a decent human that I encourage anyone to get to know. Close Favorite Things favorite things

Ms. Mickley I am an East Coast girl who moved to Las Vegas in 2000. I was born on Long Island, moved 6 times when I was young, including to Connecticut & New Jersey, but grew up in Massachusetts. After receiving my Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy from Springfield College in Massachusetts, I came to Las Vegas to complete one of my internships. The move was supposed to be short term, but I have been working for the Clark County School District since 2001! I travel to various schools but have been fortunate enough to call Staton ES my home for the past 12 years. My experience includes pediatrics (school, home, & outpatient services) and adult acute care and rehabilitation (orthopedic & neurological) and home health care services. People who know me know I am one crazy Boston Sports Fan. If I'm not traveling back to New England to see games, I am going somewhere to see one. I spend a lot of my free time traveling to visit family on the East Coast or here in Vegas with friends and my 2 "fur babies" Junior and Savannah. Close
