Mrs. Blanks I’m looking forward to another fabulous year in 4th grade. This will be my 10th year here at Staton and 15th year with the district. It is a privilege to work with such a caring community of parents and teachers. Teaching is always what I’ve wanted to do as a career. There is no better job than working with kids and watching them learn and grow. Plus they make me laugh and keep me young! I was born in Oklahoma City, OK, but I have lived in Las Vegas for 33 years. I am married to Clayton Blanks, my husband of 20 years! I am a mother of 3 kids, Jacob, Breanna, and Aleena. I also have 2 “bonus” kids- one is Ayla who is 27, and one is Alyssa who is 24. I graduated from UNLV in 2002, and I also completed a masters in Mathematics Education at UNLV. My favorite subject is math, but I love reading and learning about basically anything. In the summer and on the weekends, I enjoy hiking, camping, going out to eat, and playing games with my family. Wish List Edit favorite things

Ms. Driscoll Hi! My name is Megan Driscoll, and I love being a part of the kindergarten team here at Staton Elementary School. I am originally from Olean, a small town just south of Buffalo, NY. I attended St. Bonaventure University where I received my undergraduate degree and then went on to receive my Master’s degree from UNLV. I have been teaching in the Clark County School District since August of 2005 and I have loved every minute of it! I have taught kindergarten and first grade, but my heart truly belongs in kindergarten. The joy that kindergarteners bring each and every day to the classroom just warms my heart. When I am not at school, I love spending time at home with my dog, Ellie. She is just the best! Some of my favorite things include reading a good book, going to country concerts, eating great Mexican food and spending quality time with my family and friends. I also enjoy traveling back east to see my family whenever I can. I am extremely grateful and proud to be a part of the Staton community and I am overjoyed at having the opportunity to work with such amazing kiddos, families and staff members each year. I am excited and eager to meet my new group of kinder kids and see what this new school year will bring! Wish List favorite things favorite things

Mrs. Cutting Hi! My name is Jaymie Cutting and I am honored to be the speech-language pathologist at Staton Elementary School! I was born in Pierre, South Dakota but raised here in fabulous Las Vegas, Nevada. I am a product of the Clark County School District and attended C.H. Decker Elementary School, C.V.T. Gilbert 6th grade center, Cashman Middle School, and Bonanza High School (Go Bengals). I received my Bachelor’s and Master's degrees in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology with a Minor in Developmental Disabilities from the University of Nevada, Reno (Go Wolfpack) and I was a member of the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. I have been an American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA) Certified Speech-Language Pathologist in the Clark County School District since 2003. Since working in the school district, I have earned a certificate in Teaching English as a Second Language, a certificate in Autism Spectrum Disorder, and multiple Awards for Continuing Education from ASHA. I absolutely LOVE helping children communicate but did you know that speech-language pathology is more than communication? It’s true! I also work as a speech-language pathologist in a hospital. In the hospital setting, I teach patients how to safely eat and drink so that they are not at risk for choking or aspiration pneumonia. It’s a fascinating field! I am married with three wonderful children. When I’m not working, I enjoy cheering for my kids at their sports, attending church activities, exercising, and roller skating (I once set a national record for in-line speed skating). I also love anything to do with comedy and if I wasn’t a speech-language pathologist, my dream job would be to work on Saturday Night Live! I’m also obsessed with gymnastics and have been known to do cartwheels in the hallways at Staton! I'm thrilled to be a member of the Staton family and work with the talented staff and amazing students here. Close Favorite Things favorite things

Ms. Fife My name is Kelli Fife, I was born and raised here in Las Vegas, Nevada making the third generation in my family to be born here, my daughter makes the fourth! She is six years old, she is also a proud Staton Pioneer! She loves to keep me busy with all her experiments and ideas. We have a fur baby named Daisy. This is my second year of teaching, and I can’t wait! I have worked for CCSD for eleven years before getting my license, while working on my degree I worked as an assistant in special education classrooms, 5 years in KIDS program, 4 years in intermediate LIF skills and 2 years in Special Kindergarten. I was seven years old when I knew I wanted to become a teacher, because of the positive impact that my first grade teacher had on me, I wanted to do the same for other students. I graduated from the Teacher Education Academy at Clark High School (T.E.A.C.H.). It wasn’t until after I graduated and landed my first position with CCSD in a KIDS program that I realized my heart was in Special Education. So I changed my major, receiving my Bachelors in Special Education and I’m working on my Masters in Special Education-Autism at UNLV, hoping to finish this Fall. When I’m not teaching, you can find me crafting whatever I can get my hands on. I love trying all kinds of different crafts. I love to play games, especially cards. I also enjoy hiking, camping, and any theme park. I am a huge Golden Knights fan, so if they are playing you know I’m watching or listening to it. I grew up going to all the Las Vegas Thunders games, so I was extremely excited to get a pro hockey team for our town! I look forward to another AMAZING year at Staton Elementary.
